Living cost in Hanoi is highest in Vietnam

Lao Cai ranked second with most of the price groups in the province almost equal to Hanoi's, while Ho Chi Minh City ranked third. The two provinces with the lowest CPI in the whole country were Hau Giang and Vinh Long. Provinces with low costs of living were largely due to lower prices of food and food service items compared to Hanoi. These provinces had also not increased the price of their health services in 2016.
