The meeting suggested directions for border management and co-operation between the 2 countries in 2017. At the meeting, the two sides agreed to ratify 2 documents on border management. Those include the Agreement on the Laos Vietnam Border Management Regulations and the Protocol on the Laos Vietnam borderline and border markers. Other fields of discussions also include improved co-ordination between agencies; and a one-stop shop besides other agreements on transport infrastructure and border trade. The two sides also agreed to promote education for residents along the border, contributing to stability, security and development in border regions.
