VTV.vn - The Lang Son government signed a build-operate-transfer (BOT) contract with investors on April 14 to build an expressway connecting Huu Nghi Border Gate with Chi Lang.

The project will be undertaken by a consortium of Deo Ca Construction Company, 568 Construction Company and Lizen Company, with a total cost of over 11 trillion VND (438.5 million USD).

Construction is scheduled to be completed in 2026.

The project has a total length of 59.87 kilometres, including 43.43 kilometres of the Huu Nghi-Chi Lang Expressway and a 16.44-kilometre section linking the Tan Thanh and Coc Nam border gates.

The Huu Nghi-Chi Lang Expressway features four lanes across 17 metres in the first stage and will be expanded to six lanes with a total width of 32.25 metres at a later stage.

The project will improve transport infrastructure in Lang Son Province and the wider northeastern region. It is also expected to boost Lang Son’s economic development and help the province become a growth pole in the northern midland and mountainous region.

Once completed, the project will be an important link in the Nanning-Lang Son-Hai Phong-Quang Ninh Economic Corridor, strengthening Vietnam as a gateway for trade exchange between China and Southeast Asia.
