VTV.vn - Japan's Foreign Ministry announced on Friday that it is freezing the assets of 19 companies in an attempt to deter the development of North Korea's missile program.

The latest string of punishments will affect companies dealing in finance, coal and minerals and transport. The companies have already been punished by the United States. According to Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga, this action is carried out due to repeated threats by Pyongyang's missiles and nuclear program. On Nov. 29, North Korea tested fired an intercontinental ballistic missile which is capable of reaching the mainland United States.
