The event features world-class chefs, members of the World Chefs Association and head chefs at top restaurants from 14 countries such as the U.S., Germany, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Singapore and Australia.
Every night the president of the World Chef Association selects a chef to cook and introduce his or her country’s signature dish at the Big Dish area.
On the opening night, chef Dimuthu Kumarasinghe from Sri Lanka introduced Kottu roti, a kind of street food that is popular in this South Asian country.
The dish is made of a mixture of vegetables, egg, meat, garlic and spices and is commonly served for breakfast.
The organizer said nearly 2,000 food coupons costing VND50,000 each and drink coupons costing VND30,000 each were snapped up on the opening night.
