HCMC should focus on MICE tourism

This was a  proposal from the business community during a dialogue between city authorities and travel agencies on Thursday.

According to businesses, visitors in MICE tours often spend more money than ordinary tourists. However, HCMC can now serve only 800 MICE tourists at a time, according to the HCMC Tourism Association. Meanwhile, MICE tours can sometimes include up to 3000 visitors. In order to organise good MICE tours, logistics services are important but remain a weakness of travel agencies in the city. In response to opinions from the business community, city authorities revealed that a new 10ha conference centre is being planned in the newly developed Thủ Thiêm quarter.
