Photographer Le Vuong, who has captured the city's lifestyles, landscapes and people, was the oldest outstanding citizen while the youngest was Duong Thuy Vi, who has won several gold medals in wushu for Vietnam at international competitions.
Speaking at the meeting, the chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee, Nguyen Đuc Chung said the city has made great strides and achieved substantial changes in all socio-economic areas.
This is the 25th year of Hanoi's "Good persons, good deeds" movement. Some 790 of the 11,250 people recognized by local authorities as having done good deeds were hailed by the chairman.
