VTV.vn - Nguyen Quynh Anh, a freelance photographer from Hanoi, has won “Hoi An, an untold story” photo contest in Hoi An City, Quang Nam Province.

Anh has been known for her picture featuring terraced rice fields in the northwestern upland, which appeared on the cover of the National Geographic magazine.

The first and second runner-ups were two IT engineers, Le Huy Tuan from Danang City and Ngo Viet Khanh Huy from HCMC.

The contest, held by the Golden Sand Resort & Spa in coordination with the authority of Hoi An, attracted 230 photographers with over 2,000 entries featuring the UNESCO World Heritage site Hoi An.

The event was aimed at marking the 41st anniversary of the liberation of Hoi An and introducing the best images of this ancient town to local and international tourists.

During the online qualifying round at the website hoianchuyenchuake.com, the organizers received nearly 300,000 views and chose the top three contestants for the finals. The trio came to Hoi An to gain inspiration for their works at a coconut garden in Cam Thanh District, Thai Market restaurant and Technogym – The Wellness Company for two days.

A photo exhibition called “Hoi An, an untold story” will take place at the lobby of the Golden Sand Resort & Spa until June 20.
