Glutinous rice price surges

VTV.vn - After a period of decline, the price of glutinous rice for exports has risen between 470 and 480 US dollars per ton, which is a 30 to 40 US dollars increase per ton.

This has pushed the price of glutinous rice for domestic consumption up, and is currently at 22 to 26 US cents per kilogram. According to rice manufacturers and exporters in the Mekong Delta, the rise is due to China's lower import tariffs. Chinese enterprises are also buying more product to meet the demand at the end of the year.
