VTV.vn - Amendments to the Law on Housing in 2015 that allowed foreigners to buy homes in Vietnam was considered a positive change.

After two years of implementation, the number of foreigners that own houses in Vietnam is still low. Currently, there are about 320 thousand foreigners living and working in Vietnam.

However, there have only been about 800 transactions from foreign organisations and individuals in the real estate sector recorded in the past 2 years.

It is estimated that foreigners make up about 5-10% of the demand for the high-end housing segment. Many foreigners buy houses, but do so under the names of their Vietnamese spouses.
