A blast of Siberian weather nicknamed "the Beast from the East" is carrying freezing winds across Europe, and temperatures as low as -40 degrees Celsius. At least 24 people have died in the past 4 days in a snap .
The cold weather also hit Rome, Italy on Monday - its first snowfall in six years. Many schools have been closed. In UK, an orange alert weather warning has also been issued after the "Beast from the East" polar system dumped several inches of snow on parts of Ireland. Aid groups have opened shelters and are providing hot food and blankets for thousands of people across Europe.
