The review process will include field trips to assess the progress of Vietnam's efforts in promoting the removal of the yellow card. The EU will use the results of the review to decide on further actions, including issuing a red card if necessary.
A red card means a total ban on Vietnam's seafood imports. A representative of the EU emphasised that the yellow card can only be removed if Vietnam is regarded as effectively working on recommendations made by the EU in October last year.
