VTV.vn - State President Tran Dai Quang has urged Vietnam and Uzbekistan to fully tap their potential in various fields while receiving Uzbekistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture and Water Resources Mirzaev Zoyir in Hanoi.

He suggested the two sides work out measures to boost two-way trade, which stood at over 37 million USD in 2016, via the intergovernmental committee on economics and trade and science and technology co-operation. The state president also recommended stepping up ties in garments and textiles, footwear, cotton and fibre production, farm produce, seafood, plant varieties, animal breeding, and oil and gas.

Apart from increasing exchanges for better mutual understanding and trust, Vietnam and Uzbekistan should expand links in culture, tourism, and education and training, he said. He called on Uzbekistan to continue supporting and working with Vietnam at multilateral forums in the region and the world.
