VTV.vn - To celebrate World Environment Day 2018 on June 5th, representatives from 41 embassies and international organizations in Vietnam signed a code of conduct on plastic pollution prevention this morning.

Accordingly, they have committed to reducing plastic waste by adjusting internal regulations and encouraging partners to apply solutions that minimize or eliminate plastic waste. The campaign, which was initiated by the Canadian Embassy in Vietnam, aims to raise awareness of the negative effects plastic materials have on the environment.

According to statistics, the amount of plastic thrown away each year is enough to circle the earth four times, and Vietnam is one of the top five countries with the largest volume of plastic waste thrown into the ocean.
