The cars were mainly imported from Thailand with the import tax of 0%. According to statistics from the General Department of Customs, 388 completely built unit (CBU) cars were registered for import from March 9th to 15th, with a total value of nearly 10.7 billion US dollars.
Last week, the General Department of Customs selected more than 2000 CBU cars that were registered for import customs procedures, with an import value of 44.42 million US dollars. The imported cars were comprised mostly of cars with less than 9 seats and specialized vehicles. Among them, there was only one 9-seater car and two trucks registered for import.
