VTV.vn - Cameroon Foreign Minister Lejeune Mbella Mbella has said Cameroon hopes to bolster co-operation with Vietnam in trade, investment, agriculture, education, green energy, and telecommunications while on a visit to Vietnam.

During talks with Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc on Dec 27 in Hanoi, the Cameroon Foreign Minister said that his country wanted to help bridge collaboration between Vietnam and members of the Economic and Monetary Community of Central Africa. He lauded the effectiveness of Vietnamese-invested projects in Cameroon, including Viettel and Xuan Thien.

Later the same day Lejeune Mbella Mbella held a discussion with his Vietnamese counterpart Deputy PM and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh. The two sides agreed to accelerate a visit by the Cameroon President to Vietnam in 2018, and conclude negotiations for agreements on investment encouragement and protection and double-tax avoidance, and another deal on co-operation in industry and promoting Vietnamese exports to Cameroon.

The two countries also signed a framework agreement on bilateral co-operation, another on visa exemption for those holding diplomatic and official passports, and a memorandum of understanding on co-operation between the two foreign ministries.
