With the budget of approximately $190 million, Kong: Skull Island is viewed as one of the biggest blockbuster this summer. In particular, this will be this first Hollywood motion picture that was ever filmed in Vietnam.

Kong: Skull Island is the seventh movie in the Kong franchise, revolving around the symbolically monstrous creature first appeared in 1993. Unlike previous parts, this tells the primitive story about King Kong, taking the audience to the home of the monster with fright and curiosity, expecting perils to come.

The movie was shot in numerous destinations in Vietnam. The crew traveled from Hanoi to Ninh Binh, Quang Binh and Ha Long. The wild landscapes of those beauties are used to portrait the background of King Kong’s home.

Over one month shooting in Vietnam, the cast of Kong: Skull Island had an opportunity to explore the natural beauty, landscapes, culture and food of Vietnam. The cast and crew have shared their own experiences in various occasions spent in Hanoi, Ninh Binh, Ha Long etc. Actors Tobby Kebbell and Jason Mitchell praised the hospitality and friendliness of the Vietnamese, the uniqueness of street food; they also were taken aback by the beauty of Ha Long Bay – one of the Seven Wonders. Tom Hiddleston was overwhelmed by the breathtakingly gorgeous Phong Nha, where he jumped and swam into the cave.

Besides, Oscars winning actress Brie Larson shared that filming in Vietnam was “the most incredible experience” of her life. She had a chance to taste Banhmi, Pho; wearing ethnic clothes, riding motorbike. Actor Samuel L.
