At any booth in this fair, you can easily find a deal offering a 30, 50, or even 100 per cent discount. While in previous years, agencies focused on domestic tours, this year, many businesses lowered their prices on overseas trips. Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, and Myanmar are among the top destinations.
Le Phong Tran, Director, Fiditour JSC said: We offer a 50 USD discount for domestic tours and over 150 USD for trips overseas. We think these promotions will help tourists save money.
In the last 3 years, outbound tourism has been made easier, as many tour operators have partnered with airlines to lower their prices. Last week, a tourism co-operation plan between Vietnam and the ACMECS member countries, including Thailand, Laos, and Cambodia, was also signed. This means tourists can benefit more from growing connections between regional tour agencies.
There will be more cooperation in details as part of the framework of the agreement. We expect this will attract more tourists visiting the Sub-Mekong region." Nguyen Thị Hong, Deputy Head, Ho Chi Minh City’s People Committee said.
The International Travel Expo boasted some 200 booths from over 20 countries. The expo served as a forum for local enterprises seeking partners and introducing their promotional packages to the public.
